Aviator PPG is Hiring!
As our company's needs have grown, we are looking to add to our incredible team of aviation lovers.
If you've ever wanted to work in the paramotor industry and love working with a team spirit, we'd love to talk to you.
Position Type: Full Time
Required Experience: At least 2 years experience as a paramotor pilot. Educational experience preferred, flight instructing experience a bonus. Prior Military or First Responder experience ideally.
Prior experience working in a small, close knit team will greatly help our ideal candidate. Our team members work hard to serve the needs of our students and customers, we put in long hours and sometimes work for weeks at a time without a day off... But the work is extraordinarily rewarding, and working on our beautiful airport offers you many opportunities to catch quick flights while you're at work.
Job Duties & Expectations: We expect all team members to work whenever needed.... This is a salaried position and our time of greatest need is within the days we have new students in town... Teaching kiting, towing, ground school classes and more will be expected from you. A USPPA instructor's rating is expected to be earned withing 3 months of employment.
Additionally, we expect that you will have reasonable mechanical knowledge and a willingness to serve wherever the team needs you.
An internship period of 30 days will be considered the final part of our interview process.
At long last, Wings Over Winter returns!
Our venue has changed to the expansive Lake Wales Municipal Airport... Plans are in motion to close one of the runways and allow RV and tent camping on site.
We'll be limiting the event to around 300 pilots but we're VERY excited to share the skies with you all!
No ratings required, though we request that all pilots be of at least a PPG2 level of certification.
There will be a small fee for pilots to help cover insurance, bathrooms, etc.
Vendors will be added as they register... Registration for vendors and pilots is available here: http://WingsOverWinter.com
The Delta's Crazy Cousin... This motor / frame combo is INCREDIBLE.
Swinging the industries first ever 150cm prop, the Nitro XL takes the standard Nitro revs down from 7,800rpm to just 6,100rpm... But while a reduction in revs may not initially sound like a good thing, it actually changes the performance MASSIVELY for the better.
The overall thrust of the unit is up by a large margin (we don't have a thrust sled yet, but our butt-ometer is showing us an absolutely INCREDIBLE increase in climb rates). Additionally, fuel consumption and noise are both drastically reduced.
The Delta XL stands a massive 5'4" tall (162.56cm) and astounds all who see it... It looks almost like a caricature... Or a Dodge truck's grill!
But though it's size is massive, we've discovered that it still handles power forwards with ease and in fact we have yet to fail a launch with it. There IS a bit more friction on the lines as they're being pulled across such a large cage, but the feeling is inconsequential and something I'm now fairly used to.
Reverses are easy as well, though with the Delta's forward leaning angle you do need to take care not to rub the lines too heavily on the top of the looming cage.
The strength of the cage is exceptional however. I've had no issue with full power forwards even in moderate wind or with larger wings. Overall the entire unit is extremely well balanced and has completely taken my heart.
Though it's larger than any other motor out there, this cage's balance, weight shift, thrust, and controllability is second to none.
